About This Leaflet
This leaflet provides an overview of the past, present and future of the Gilberdyke War Memorial Hall. Discover the Hall’s history, recent improvements, future plans, and how new arrangements for governance are helping to secure a welcoming, inclusive and sustainable community space for generations to come.
Play Area Update
We’re pleased to share that good progress is now being made on improvements to the play area at the hall.
While some decisions regarding the project took longer than expected and were delayed during the approval process with the sole trustee, we are now making real headway. Work is underway to repair existing equipment, and planning is progressing for the installation of new play equipment to improve the space for local families and children.
Our aim is to have the play area ready to enjoy before the summer holidays, with the rest of the developments coming later creating a safer, more welcoming and exciting space for the community.
We’ll continue to share updates as plans move forward, thank you for your patience and continued support.

Good Companions
2pm - 4pm
Our programme consists of meeting at the village hall on the first, third and occasionally fifth Monday of the month. The first Monday is usually an artist, the other Mondays tend to be Bingo, plus a quiz.On arrival everyone is offered a hot or cold drink and biscuits.
We also do trips out during the summer and to the pantomime at Hull new theatre. In December we also have a Christmas dinner along with a Christmas draw. As we are self funded a modest charge is applied to all our activities, BUT we are very aware as a seniors group that cost must be kept to a minimum. With that in mind all charges are only modest.
